Fairfax County Project Manager Award
KCM provided construction management and cost consulting services for Reston Station Phases 1 and 2, two million square feet of parking facility, public bus station, 440 unit apartment building located at the Reston Station Metro station on the new Silver Line. KCM assisted the project team since 2005 providing feasibility studies, planning, scheduling and design team management. Phase 1 included a 2,300 car parking facility to service Metro riders, a Kiss & Ride, bus vault and 500 private parking spaces to support retail at the plaza level.
This transit oriented development includes 100,000 cubic yards of cast-in-place concrete and over 500,000 cubic yards of excavation to create the largely below grade structure. Project also included the surrounding road and infrastructure improvements consisting of traffic signalization, construction of VDOT road network, supporting utilities and extensive power relocation and bulk feeders from Dominion Virginia Power to support the massive development.
