Cornerstone Chapel is a new 2020 seat venue including an extensive lobby, café area, education and office area situated on 28 acres in Leesburg, Virginia. The 118,000 sf building is designed and situated into a hillside with a retreat motif using natural stone, stained fibercement panels, stucco and wood trim. The facility will serve up to 7000 congregants each weekend.
The site has been masterplanned for a future administration building, 65,000 sf Family Life Center, and 200 seat chapel. KCM ushered the project through land use and gained overwhelming support within the surrounding community with the building design, siting and establishment of a large tree conservation area as a buffer to the surrounding residences.
KCM assisted the client in purchase and selection of the property in 1995 and has provided feasibility services, rezoning/land use and preconstruction services up to the construction commencement in Fall of 2014. KCM has recommended and saved the client over $900,000 in value engineering and cost savings provisions with net increases in quality.
